What to Do?
When we imagine a baby, we generally think of a cute little thing, full of angelic smiles and delight with a pink and naturally glowing face. Now, we don’t want to mar that with pimples, do we? That is the last thing that we would want a baby to have. But like it or not, babies do tend to breakout in acne at some point. Some babies, rather. However, it is certainly nothing to get serious about. Infant acne starts at around the early age of four to five weeks old, lasts for a couple of weeks, and then disappears.

What to do about it
Though it is certainly depressing to see those little, red bumps on your baby’s face, there is nothing we can do to get rid of it. The good news is that infant acne is temporary. It usually goes away within a week or two.

The best way we can help our babies is to make sure he or she is comfortable all the time. Spills, strong detergents that stick to clothes and blankets, milk, and spit can worsen your baby’s acne, so be sure to mop up any spilled milk or spit on her face immediately. Strong detergent powders leave a residue on clothes and blankets, so be sure not let those touch the acne areas to avoid inflammation and added discomfort. Or else switch to a gentle detergent. And never, ever, put any kind of acne medication whatsoever on her face! It will only worsen and inflame the area, and add discomfort to your baby.

Just make sure that your baby is free from discomfort, and is comfortable and not fussy, and for sure, the acne will be gone in a short time.
